This production is a
glorious mix of haunting songs, joyous dance sequences, and magical stage
moments in which you can lose yourself right up to the final curtain. The story
follows the Curry family of Lizzie, her father H.C., and her two brothers Noah
and Jimmy, all of whom are trying to get Lizzie suitably married off. The boys
think File, the local sheriff, would be a fine catch. Then along comes
Starbuck, the strong and dashing rainmaker, and Lizzie's life is turned upside
down!
Melora Hutton plays the spinsterish yet hopeful Lizzie with
a gentle humor and wisdom that paints the character's conflicting bitterness
and optimism as complimentary traits
Television veteran Patrick Foley is the
exciting and powerful Starbuck, a conman posing as a rainmaker.
Sheriff File, the town's
most eligible yet reluctant bachelor, is played by Aaron Vidal.
Jim Seerden plays Lizzie's
father, the reliably rustic H.C. Curry.
Dustin Velasquez and James Cluster are Lizzie's brothers Noah and Jimmy.
The lovely and talented Abby Collins plays the boy crazy
"Snookie".
