Plot Summary:

The Broadway Theater recruits mystery expert Agatha Christie to direct a new stage who-dunnit. The cast meets to rehearse in an empty theater and, as in her novels, a murder takes place. Larger-than-life characters clash until the murder is solved.

Character Breakdown:                                                                                  

 

AGATHA CHRISTIE - The world's greatest mystery writer. She has taken on the job of director (and play-doctor) for another person's play. 60's.

 

CYNTHIA GROVE-HEWITT - Her young adult niece, dispatched with Agatha to America by her father in an effort to keep her out of trouble. 20's.

 

STEVEY HOBBES - Agatha's longtime assistant, who has signed on as stage manager for the Broadway production, 30's.

 

RIP MORRISON - A millionaire oil tycoon from Oklahoma . Rip fancies he has written the "mystery of the decade." To direct it, he made Agatha an offer she could not refuse. 40's.

 

BARNEY GREENBAUM - Character actor, long a fixture on the New York stage. Barney is an artist of great reputation. 60's.

 

ZELDA ALBRIGHT - Formerly a great leading lady on Broadway, now mainly found in character parts. Her star has dimmed. 50's.

 

DRAKE MCCORMICK - A larger-than-life Shakespearean actor, formerly married to Zelda. 50's.

 

SARAH KIRBY - A policewoman in the homicide division of the New York Police Department. 30's.
