At the heart of Conejo Players Theatre are its volunteer members.
Our theatre is unique in the Conejo Valley since it operates on a
solely volunteer basis. The theatre's board members, actors, production
staff, and technical crew do not receive any monetary compensation
for their services. But the rewards of volunteering with our theatre
are great in many other ways! We provide a medium for creative self-expression
with many opportunities to get involved both on stage and behind the
scenes - acting, directing, producing, stage managing, scenic design
and construction, theatrical lighting and sound, costuming, and the
list goes on.
We are proud of the dedication of our volunteers and the services
they provide are invaluable to our success. Its our volunteers, both
adults and children, that have allowed Conejo Players to thrive since
its humble beginning in 1957. In return, our volunteers gain valuable
creative experiences while enjoying the fun and friendships that come
along with working in the ever changing (and sometimes crazy) atmosphere
of the theatre. We invite you to join us in our efforts to support
the cultural, educational, and entertainment needs of the community
through the arts.

Membership
in the Conejo Players is easy! All one needs to do is apply and pay
a $1.00 registration fee. This entitles you to associate membership
status. Once you have participated in at least one volunteer activity
of the theatre, you become a full voting member! There are no annual
dues and members retain their voting rights until such time as a two
year period has elapsed without the member participating in a volunteer
activity.
To become a member, call the theatre at 805-495-3715 to request a
membership form or just stop by and pick one up in the lobby. We look
forward to welcoming you on board!

In
celebration of the Conejo Players' 40th anniversary season,
the "Reaching for the Stars" Capital Improvement Campaign
was undertaken. The theatre building was 35 years old and it needed
major refurbishing and upgrading.

The
Conejo Players rewards contributions made by members and nonmembers
rather than making presentations for "Best Play", "Best
Director," etc. At each year's Harlequin Awards Banquet, the
actors get a chance to applaud the people who toiled behind the set,
in the tech booth, building sets, selling tickets, and doing all the
other tasks that come together in the performances seen by our audiences.
