History
The Wiz, Jr.
Theatre for Young Audiences! Dorothy's adventures in the Land of Oz are set to a dazzling, lively mixture of rock, gospel and soul music. Everybody knows the story, but this re-invented fantasy is dazzling, mysterious, and opulent. Join Dorothy and her friends as they “Ease On Down the Road” to... The Wiz! This fabulous cast was picked from over 100 auditioners. The cast ranges from age 5 to adult and is having a blast with such fun musical numbers and dances. This show has brought talent from Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Westlake, Oak Park, Moorpark, Northridge and Agoura Hills!
Sorry! Wrong Chimney!
David is secretly moonlighting as a department-store Santa so he can afford a fur for his wife, but when she discovers his mysterious activity, all HOLLY breaks loose! A suspected other woman, a confused policeman, hypnotism, and a notorious Santa- burglar add up to a rollicking tale that is hilarious anytime entertainment.
Open House
This fast-paced, warm-hearted comedy centers on Mark, a newbie to the realty world trying to sell a dream house to a clutch of zany characters. Built with a lot of love and care - not to mention a room that many find... inspirational - this house is one hot item, and its story will have you falling out of your seat and rolling in the aisles!
The Rocky Horror Show
"Let's do the TIME WARP again!" Join us on a thrilling musical romp through time, space and imagination. Like the classic cult film, this deliberately kitschy, rock-gothic "Science-Fiction Double Feature" is a sure-fire way to get your heart thumping! And be sure to dress up and join us for our special Midnight Audience Participation shows on July 8th and 15th!
Vanities
This bittersweet comedy is an astute snapshot of the lives of three Texas girls whose friendship, which once thrived on assumption as well coordinated as sweater sets, grows strained and ambiguous over the years. In the end, old-time banter rings false, and their attempts at honest conversation only show they can no longer afford to have very much in common.
12 Angry Men
"He doesn't stand a chance," mutters the guard as 12 jurors are taken into the bleak jury room. It looks like an open-and-shut case - until one of the jurors makes it personal, the murder is re-enacted and a new threat is born before their eyes! Tempers get short and arguments grow heated in tense scenes that will electrify you and keep you on the edge of your seat.
How 2 Eat Like a Child
This hilarious musical romp through the joys and sorrows of being a child is sure to bring a smile to your face! Children give 23 lessons in such subjects as how to beg for a dog, how to torture your sister, how to act after being sent to your room, and how to laugh hysterically. What more does a kid need to know?
The Scarlet Pimpernel
Who is The Scarlet Pimpernel?" Welcome to the French Revolution, where a dashing English aristocrat risks his life to enter France and save innocents from the guillotine. Based on Baroness Orczy's famous novel, this action/adventure musical extravaganza introduces us to some of literature's earliest superheroes, in a battle for Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
Home for the Holidays
"Home For The Holidays": a festive night of cabaret where performers from our current season and seasons past come together in a evening of song, to share glad tidings and spread holiday cheer. Our performers will regale you with renditions of holiday classics both old and new-- songs that warm the heart, and songs that make you laugh with glee... one final encore to our 2010 season to thank you, our Patrons, for a wonderful season. You asked for a holiday show this season, and we listened!
Kiss Me, Kate
Combine Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew" with Cole Porter's fun, melodious and sophisticated music and you get this is a play-within-a-play where each cast member's on-stage life is complicated by what is happening offstage. Musical numbers include “Tom Dick or Harry,” “Too Darn Hot,” “Always True to You In My Fashion” and “Another Op'nin, Another Show.”
Stuart Little
E.B. White's classic tale about a little mouse born into a normal New York family is the charming story of a determined "underdog" trying to survive in a "real people's world." The score features such delightful songs as "Paddle Your Own Canoe," "Feed Him Up," "Size," "Stuart Little," "I'm Headed in the Right Direction" and "Nighttime in New York" (sung by a quartet of cats!).
Over the River and Through the Woods
The author of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change brings us an even more hilarious family comedy! What happens when a single Italian guy from New Jersey decides to leave his four beloved, but annoying, grandparents for a dream job cross the country? Di Pietro's witty play shows what hilarious lengths a family will go to in order to stay together.
The Women
Luce's brilliant modern classic involves the efforts of a group of women to play their respective roles in an artificial society that consists of vain show, comedy, tragedy, hope and disappointment. Its numerous film adaptations have included stars from Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford and Rosalind Russell to Meg Ryan, Annette Bening and Debra Messing.
Tommy
Pete Townshend’s tale of a young boy’s journey from pain to triumph is the most electrifying evening of rock and roll ever to play in a theatre! Based on The Who's rock-opera, featuring such classic songs as “Pinball Wizard,” “I’m A Sensation” and “Acid Queen.”
Stalag 17
A lusty comedy about a group of American prisoners who embarrass and irritate their captors as they try to escape from a German prison camp, Bevan and Trzcinski's plot revolves around the escape of an American who will face serious punishment for sabotaging a train (as will the fellow prisoners who hide him!)
Heaven Can Wait
After arriving in the Hereafter by mistake, Prizefighter Joe Pendleton is informed that his body has been cremated and he is sent back to earth as Farnsworth, a wealthy financier who is about to be murdered by his wife. Farnsworth disapproves of Joe's treatment of his body (and money), though, and raises a fuss to have it back. Trouble is - Joe is falling in love and is still not ready to go!
Seussical, Jr.
All of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters, live on stage! The witty and creative score is a Seussian Gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk! So let your toes tap, your fingers snap, and your imagination run wild for "Oh, the thinks you can think, When you think about Seuss!"
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.
