| A
major milestone is upon us. The
Conejo Players Theatre is turning 50. Since
1958, we has grown from producing a schedule
of four to five annual productions to a season of five Main
Stage productions, the weekend afternoon series of three Conejo Afternoon Theatre shows
and two Conejo Children's Theatre presentations, one in Spring and
one in Fall. Ten productions now involve audiences and community
participants of all ages and many talents, onstage and off. |
The
secret to the Players' growth and longevity is having a theater
home of its own for over 40 years. Built in 1964, the theater
building has been expanded twice and just recently competed
the first phase of a major refurbishing and improvement plan
to prepare for another fifty years of community participation
and cultural involvement.
Still to come is a major expansion of the lobby, restrooms,
porch and entrances to improve hospitality and comfort. Production
improvements for new dressing rooms, prop, costume and set storage,
and a rehearsal hall/reception area are on the drawing board
but will need major funding.
For the entire history, the all-volunteer Conejo Players Theatre
has operated and maintained its production facilities with box
office receipts. The REACHING FOR THE STARS campaign was created
to provide capital improvement funding for remodeling and expanding
the Conejo Players Theatre facility. 100% of all donations are
set aside to meet the actual cost of construction. The Conejo
Players, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt public benefit
organization. Pledges can be paid over a five year period and
payments are 100% tax deductible in the year they are paid.
With major community support the Conejo Players Theatre could
celebrate its Fiftieth Anniversary with the remodeling complete.
Your support is welcomed and needed. Please join our growing
list of donors with a generous pledge.
